Reflect

  • Display your priorities on the landscape related to rooting yourself in place, learning, stewardship, and giving back—includes a few sample priorities to get you started

  • Peruse (and add to) a private library of resources related to intentionality on the land—includes resources on land trusts and repatriation; BIPOC land solidarity; reciprocity in foraging and wildcrafting; conservation; and land stewardship

  • Brainstorm and organize your ideas for rooting, learning, stewardship, and giving back

Define

  • Define (and prioritize) the values that will orient your interactions with the landscape

  • Set specific goals for your interactions with the landscape during a given season or year and give it a due date!

  • Pinpoint subgoals that will help you realize the bigger goals (e.g. "learn to plant native plants successfully" as a subgoal within the larger goal of "become a better land steward")

Plan

  • Consistently plan activities that help you realize your goals and subgoals on the landscape

  • Keep your core values top of mind as you plan and see which values could use more attention
