SToried Grounds

Public Place-Based Education Bridging science + Humanities

Kaitlin founded Storied Grounds (2021-2024) through which she offered innovative place-based educational experiences that fostered connection to place through folk knowledge practices and humanistic ideas. During this time, she worked with organizations including national not-for-profit Outdoor Afro, the Brookline Bird Club, and the Student Center at Harvard Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Program examples include "Acorns and Octavia: Embodying Afrofuturism," "Black Celestial Connections: Remembering Nat Turner,” and "Welcome to Elfland: A Quirky Somerville Walking Tour."

Note: Kaitlin plans to revive public-facing, place-based events in conjunction with the release of her memoir.
